Shantou My Hometown (汕頭)

Starting from my hometown 'Shantou' as Thailand is the second country of Chinese people especially from Shantou (including me also). Shantou is located in the south of China sea in Guangdong province (Spring City) with the total area of 2034 square kilometers and lying down on the coast made Shantou be one of the nice destinations for traveling in China.

Shantou Geography and Climate

There are a lot of islands and ports along the sea coast, Han River flows to the sea in these areas. Actually you can’t find much seafood in China because of the vast area of the country but not for Shantou so this is another advantage for traveling to Shantou right?

Shantou is located in the perfect area for hilliness in the north, the sea in the east and Hanjian Plain in the south coz this is a kind of good feng shui.

The average temperature of Shantou is about 21.3 Celsius.

Economic of Shantou

Shantou is one of the Special Economic Zones of China; it is an industrial city with textile as the major industry and it also maintain the production base of photosensitive chemical and electronic ultrasound.

In agriculture field is mainly in rice, sugarcane, peanut and aquatic product and for fruits there are pineapples, longan and lychee.
